What happened
On a scheduled flight from Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, an Air Tindi Ltd. Cessna 208B Caravan, operating as flight 8T200, departed at 11:03 Mountain Daylight Time. The flight was proceeding under visual flight rules toward its destination of Lutsel K'e.
After the aircraft failed to reach its destination at the expected time, search operations were launched. The wreckage was subsequently located approximately 26 nautical miles west of Lutsel K'e, situated near the crest of the Pehtei Peninsula. The accident resulted in two fatalities and two serious injuries. The occupants of the aircraft included the pilot and three passengers.
Findings
During the search and recovery efforts, it was noted that no signal from an emergency locator transmitter was detected by search aircraft or the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre. There was no evidence of a post-impact fire at the crash site.
