Accident Overview
On departure from runway 23 at Hermosillo-General Ignacio Pesqueira Garcia Airport, a twin-engine aircraft initiated a slight right turn but experienced difficulties in gaining altitude. The aircraft subsequently struck power cables and crashed into a field approximately 7 kilometers west of the airport. The impact and resulting fire destroyed the aircraft.
Injuries and Fatalities
Four occupants, including the pilot, were killed in the crash. Three passengers sustained serious injuries. Hours after the accident, two of the three survivors succumbed to their injuries. The undersecretary of Economic Development of Sonora, Leonardo Ciscomani, was reported as the sole survivor.
Sequence of Events
The aircraft departed from runway 23 and began a shallow right turn. During this maneuver, it failed to climb sufficiently, struck overhead power cables, and crashed in a field. The aircraft burst into flames upon impact.
Rescue and Aftermath
Emergency services responded to the crash site. Survivors were transported to medical facilities. The accident remains under investigation.
