What happened
On 16 November, a twin engine aircraft departed from Tuluá-Heriberto Gil Martinez Airport at 21:30 local time. The flight was an unauthorized mission destined for Oaxaca, Mexico. The aircraft was transporting four individuals along with a cargo of cocaine weighing between 250 and 500 kilograms.
Following a refueling stop during the journey, the flight proceeded toward Costa Rica. Upon reaching the vicinity of Playa Hermosa, the crew intended to release the narcotics cargo into the sea. However, the aircraft crashed into the ocean under unidentified circumstances. The wreckage was located approximately 50 meters from the shoreline the following morning. All four occupants of the plane were subsequently apprehended by authorities.
