What happened
During a positioning flight intended for Toluca Airport, an aircraft experienced a runway excursion following a nighttime arrival on runway 15. After the aircraft touched down, the crew initiated standard braking procedures. During this process, the aircraft began to deviate toward the left side of the runway.
In an attempt to regain control, the crew applied maximum braking pressure; however, the aircraft continued to veer off the paved surface. Upon encountering soft ground, the nose landing gear collapsed under the impact. The aircraft eventually came to a stop approximately 2,700 metres from the runway threshold.
Findings
- The aircraft sustained damage beyond repair.
- There were zero fatalities and zero injuries reported among the two pilots on board.
- The primary factor in the excursion was the uncontrolled leftward deviation during the braking phase.
