What happened
During the final approach phase at Lyudao Airport, the flight crew failed to maintain a safe altitude, leading to the aircraft striking the ground several meters before reaching the runway threshold. The force of the impact caused the right main landing gear to be severed from the airframe. Following this structural failure, the aircraft underwent a crash landing before eventually coming to a stop on the primary runway.
Despite the severity of the impact and the resulting damage to the airframe, all 22 occupants on board were able to evacuate the aircraft without sustaining any injuries. The aircraft itself sustained damage that rendered it a total loss.
Findings
- The primary factor in the accident was the crew's failure to recognize an insufficient altitude during the approach to the airport.
