What happened
While operating toward Córdoba, the flight encountered deteriorating weather conditions characterized by significant fog and reduced visibility. Because of these environmental factors, the crew decided to divert the flight to Santiago del Estero.
During the transit to the alternative destination, the pilot notified air traffic control that the aircraft was reaching a critical fuel state. This shortage necessitated an immediate emergency landing attempt. The aircraft subsequently struck a field during the descent and came to a halt. Despite the impact, all ten occupants were able to evacuate the wreckage without sustaining any injuries.
Findings
Investigations into the incident concluded that the primary factor was an attempt to reach an alternative airfield after fuel reserves had been depleted. This emergency maneuver was performed under conditions of low visibility caused by unexpected fog accumulation.
