Accident
Shortly after departure from Mandalay-Chianmyathazi (Annisaton) Airport, the flight crew reported an engine failure while in the initial climb. Air traffic control cleared the aircraft to return for an emergency landing. During the subsequent circuit, while on final approach, the airplane lost altitude and crashed into a tobacco factory. Both the aircraft and the factory were completely destroyed.
Casualties and Damage
A passenger on board sustained serious injuries. Forty-three other occupants were killed in the crash. No casualties occurred on the ground.
