Incident Overview
A flight from Tehran to Tabriz proceeded uneventfully until the descent. The crew was informed by ATC that visibility was low due to heavy rain. The aircraft landed on runway 30R, which has a length of 3,556 metres. After touchdown, the aircraft was unable to stop within the remaining distance. It overran the runway and rolled for about 500 metres before coming to rest in a ditch.
Occupants and Injuries
All 110 occupants were successfully rescued. Among them, two passengers sustained slight injuries.
Aircraft Damage
The aircraft sustained damage beyond repair. The nose was destroyed and the bulkhead was severely damaged.
