What happened
During the approach to Dera Ismail Khan Airport, the flight crew identified a technical malfunction involving the left engine. In response to this mechanical issue, the captain elected to perform a go-around procedure. During the execution of this maneuver, the crew retracted the undercarriage and the flaps. Following these configuration changes, the aircraft entered a stall condition, leading to a significant loss of altitude.
The aircraft subsequently impacted an open field. Upon impact, the plane traveled approximately 300 metres along the ground before coming to a stop against a group of trees. While the impact was serious, all 42 occupants were successfully evacuated from the wreckage. Among the passengers, three injuries were reported.
Findings
Initial details indicate that the loss of altitude and subsequent crash were precipitated by the aircraft reaching a stall state while the flight controls and landing gear were being reconfigured during the aborted approach.
