What happened
On a training mission departing from Jakarta-Halim Perdanakusuma Airport at 13:10 local time, an aircraft carrying one instructor and six student pilots was performing local touch-and-go maneuvers. During the flight sequence, the pilot-in-command initiated a left turn to align with the glide path for runway 18. During this maneuver, the aircraft experienced a stall and descended into a residential area situated less than one kilometer from the runway threshold.
The impact resulted in the destruction of the aircraft and several nearby homes. The accident claimed the lives of six occupants of the aircraft and four people on the ground. Although the co-pilot sustained critical injuries during the crash, he later succumbed to his wounds at a hospital.
