Incident
The aircraft departed Jakarta-Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport on a flight to Madiun, carrying Indonesian soldiers and officers along with their family members. During the final approach to Madiun-Iswahyudi Airport, the crew failed to realize that the aircraft's altitude was too low. Consequently, the aircraft collided with four houses before crashing into a rice paddy field.
Occupants and Casualties
The aircraft carried 98 occupants, including soldiers, officers, and family members. Additionally, two people on the ground were killed when the aircraft struck the houses. In total, 100 people lost their lives. Furthermore, 14 other occupants sustained serious injuries.
Probable Cause
The investigation determined that the crew failed to realize that the altitude was too low during the final approach, leading to the collision with houses and subsequent crash.
