What happened

A positioning flight operated by an unnamed operator departed Denpasar-Ngurah Rai Airport at 18:29 local time, bound for Surabaya-Juanda Airport. The flight was manned by a crew of four members.

While maintaining an initial altitude of FL165, the flight crew received clearance to begin their descent toward Surabaya. During the descent process, the aircraft transitioned through FL100 and FL60. However, before reaching the destination, the aircraft type struck the side of Mount Bromo, which has an elevation of 1,890 meters. The impact occurred approximately 33 km southwest of Probolinggo.

The collision resulted in the total destruction of the aircraft. There were four fatalities among the crew members on board.
