Accident Overview
On an unspecified date, an aircraft departing from Bandar Lampung-Branti Airport's runway 14 experienced an aborted takeoff. At liftoff, the captain believed one engine had failed and decided to abandon the takeoff procedure, landing back onto the runway. However, the aircraft was unable to stop within the remaining distance. It overran the runway, struck a concrete wall, and came to rest on a small hill located 138 meters past the runway end.
Occupant Casualties and Damage
The accident resulted in the deaths of both the pilot and a passenger. Twelve other occupants sustained injuries, while 46 individuals escaped uninjured. The aircraft was destroyed in the crash.
Investigation Findings
The official investigation determined that, contrary to the captain's belief, none of the engines had failed at takeoff. Instead, the crew had conducted poor flight preparation, failed to follow the pre-takeoff checklist, and adopted a wrong takeoff configuration, leading to the accident.
