What happened
During an approach to Mumbai-Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport, an aircraft encountered challenging meteorological conditions characterized by heavy rainfall and significantly reduced visibility. As the flight was on short final, the aircraft entered a nose-down attitude accompanied by a right-hand roll. The plane subsequently struck the runway surface.
Following the initial impact, the aircraft lost directional control and veered off the runway into an adjacent grassy area. The force of the event caused the fuselage to break into two separate sections. While a small fire ignited during the excursion, emergency responders were able to extinguish the flames quickly. There were eight injuries reported among the occupants, but no fatalities occurred.
