What happened
On the date of the incident, a cargo aircraft was performing a scheduled transport mission from Tarapoto-Comandante Guillermo del Castillo Paredes Airport to Lima. The flight was being operated by Servicio Aéreo de Transportes Comerciales (SATCO). During the initial climb phase following departure, the aircraft type experienced a significant loss of altitude.
The aircraft, which carried dual registrations FAP395 and OB-R-1004, entered a stall condition before impacting the ground. The impact resulted in four fatalities, as all members of the flight crew were killed in the accident.
Findings
Investigations into the crash suggest that the primary factor was an engine failure, with investigators considering the possibility that multiple engines may have failed during the climb.
