On June 21, 2019, a Mi-2 helicopter, registration RA-14107, was involved in a fatal accident near the settlement of Chamlykskaya in the Krasnodar region. The aircraft had been undergoing pre-sale preparations by a technician between June 19 and June 20, 2019, which included de-preservation, inspection, and the replacement of fuel and lubricants.
Prior to the accident, the pilot had conducted a test flight and a control hover, which were completed without issues. The pilot intended to test the aircraft's performance under maximum weight by spraying a sunflower field, an operation coordinated with a local agronomist. On the morning of the accident, the pilot and technician arrived at the base at 01:30 to begin preparations.
The pilot performed a self-monitored medical check in accordance with FAP-128 regulations. The technician noted that the pilot appeared healthy and sober. The planned flight was to take place in Class G airspace.
During the approach phase, the helicopter entered a steep nose-down attitude. This led to the main rotor blades striking the ground and the subsequent destruction of the aircraft during an uncontrolled left rotation.
