What happened
On June 1, 2020, an operator planned a training flight involving a Mil Mi-2, registration RA-15746. The intended flight path was designed to start and end at the Ivanovskaya settlement, passing through the area near the Staronizhesteblevskaya settlement.
During the execution of the flight, the crew attempted to land on a site that had been selected via aerial observation. During the landing process, the Mil Mi-2 tipped over onto its right side. As the aircraft rolled, the main rotor blades made contact with the surface of a rice field, leading to the destruction of the helicopter.
Findings
- The aircraft overturned during the landing phase.
- Contact between the rotor blades and the ground surface caused the destruction of the airframe.
