On 11 August 2018, a Po-2P aircraft (RA-1928G) executed a forced landing near Nizhnyaya Gutara after losing airspeed during takeoff. An emergency GPS signal was received by the dispatcher in Kuznetsovo.

Flight Details

On 11 August 2018, at 06:44 local time, the pilot-in-command of an experimental civil aviation aircraft, a Polikarpov Po-2P with registration RA-1928G, departed from the Kuznetsovo landing site in Krasnoyarsk. The flight was conducted under general aviation rules along a route from Kuznetsovo to Nizhnyaya Gutara and back.

At 09:05, the pilot landed the aircraft on an airfield selected from the air near the village of Nizhnyaya Gutara.

Incident

At 10:28, the pilot began the takeoff from this field. According to the pilot, after lift-off and climbing to a height of 20 to 25 meters, the aircraft experienced a sink accompanied by a loss of indicated airspeed. Assessing the altitude and the distance to trees ahead on the takeoff path, the pilot decided to perform a forced landing.

Aftermath

At 10:30, an emergency signal from the GPS tracker installed on the Po-2P was received on the monitor of the information dispatcher at the Kuznetsovo landing site. The dispatcher reported the event to the controller of the Krasnoyarsk Regional Center of the Federal Air Navigation Organization.
