What happened
On August 11, 2018, at 06:44, a Polikarpov Po-2P, registration RA-1928G, departed from the Kuznetsovo landing strip in the Krasnoyarsk region. The aircraft was operating for agricultural purposes on a route between Kuznetsovo and the settlement of Nizhnyaya Gutara.
Following a landing at a site selected via aerial reconnaissance in Nizhnyaya Gutara at 09:05, the pilot attempted a second takeoff at 10:28. Shortly after the aircraft became airborne and reached an altitude of approximately 20 to 25 meters, it experienced a sudden drop in altitude accompanied by a simultaneous loss of indicated airspeed. After evaluating the remaining altitude and the proximity of trees along the flight path, the pilot decided to perform an emergency landing.
At 10:30, the Kuznetsovo flight information controller observed an emergency signal from the GPS tracker installed on the Polikarpov Po-2P RA-1928G. The controller subsequently notified the Krasnoyarsk Air Traffic Management Center.
