Contract and Planning
On July 31, 2014, OOO "PSK "Adrem" and NP "VK "Solnechny" entered into a contract for paid demonstration flights to promote Robinson helicopters. Under this contract, a flight was planned for August 7, 2016, using Robinson R-66 helicopter RA-06347. The flight was to be conducted in Class C airspace under visual flight rules (VFR). An application for airspace use was filed on August 6, 2016, with the Moscow ZC ES OrVD, specifying the flight area. Permission from the air traffic control authority was obtained in a timely manner.
Flight Task and Route
Departure was scheduled for 08:30 on August 7, 2016. The pilot arrived at the Solnechny landing site one hour before departure. The flight task was received from the chief pilot of the Solnechny helicopter club. The task specified a flight at a true altitude of 150 meters along the following route: Solnechny landing site – an air-selected landing area near the settlement of Ramon (landing) – Oldenburg Castle – settlement of Berezovo – settlement of Ivnitsy – settlement of Borki – Ramon landing site (landing) – Solnechny landing site. The purpose of the landing at the Ramon landing site was to board passengers for a demonstration flight. The passengers were to be disembarked at the same site after the demonstration flight.
Preflight Preparations
At the Solnechny landing site, the pilot requested confirmation of the airspace permission from the dispatcher-informer and reviewed meteorological information obtained from the GISMETEO internet portal. The weather forecast did not preclude the flight along the planned route under VFR. Preflight maintenance of the helicopter was performed by specialists of OOO "ATB "Solnechny". The helicopter was fueled with TS-1 aviation kerosene at the Solnechny landing site, with a total of 279 liters of fuel on board. The pilot conducted a full preflight inspection in accordance with the Robinson R-66 flight manual.
Departure
The actual departure from the Solnechny landing site occurred at 09:43. The helicopter carried the pilot and (the source text ends abruptly).
