On August 7, 2016, a Robinson R66, registration RA-06347, was conducting a scheduled demonstration flight as part of a contract between LLC 'PSK Adrem' and NP 'VK Solnechny'. The flight was planned under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) within Class C airspace, with a route beginning and ending at the 'Solnechnaya' airfield, including several stops at various villages and landmarks.
The pilot-in-command arrived at the 'Solnechnaya' airfield one hour before the scheduled 08:30 departure. The flight plan specified a true altitude of 150 meters. Before takeoff, the pilot reviewed weather information from an internet portal and confirmed IFR flight permissions with the airfield dispatcher. Pre-flight maintenance and refueling with 279 liters of TS-1 aviation kerosene were completed prior to departure.
The aircraft departed 'Solnechnaya' airfield at 09:43. In addition to the pilot-in-command, other individuals were on board the aircraft. The flight was intended to include landings at 'Ramon' airfield to pick up passengers for the demonstration.
During the flight, the helicopter collided with power line wires approximately 0.56 km northeast of the settlement of Borki. At the time of the collision, the aircraft was flying at an extremely low altitude of approximately 5 to 6 meters above the water surface.
