Incident Overview
On June 23, 2018, at 14:35 UTC, YanAir flight ANR223, a Boeing 737-400 registered as UR-COI, was operating a scheduled passenger service from Kharkiv to Batumi. During the climb phase, at an altitude of 20,000 feet, the flight crew observed a loss of cabin pressurization.
Crew Actions
The captain decided to descend and divert to the alternate airport at Kyiv (Igor Sikorsky International Airport). During the descent, the oxygen masks deployed automatically. The aircraft landed safely at 15:22 UTC.
Investigation
The National Bureau of Air Accidents Investigation of Ukraine (NBRA) is conducting an investigation into the serious incident.
