What happened
The incident involved a cargo service operating flight KTA1732 from Sharjah Airport to Karachi. The aircraft departed at 1902LT with five crew members aboard. Approximately one hour and fifteen minutes into the journey, while cruising at Flight Level 350, the crew reported technical difficulties regarding the navigation system.
Following these reports, the aircraft performed a descent to 29,500 feet before climbing again to an altitude of 36,700 feet. Shortly after this maneuver, the airplane entered an uncontrolled descent. It impacted the surface of the Arabian Sea roughly one minute later, crashing approximately 287 kilometers west-southwest of Karachi and south of Ormara.
The impact caused the airframe to disintegrate completely. The accident was not survivable, resulting in five fatalities. The following day, debris from the aircraft was located floating on the water surface about 85 kilometers south of Ormara.
