What happened
A flight departing from Us-Khatyn bound for Suordakh ended in a fatal accident when the aircraft struck a mountain slope. The flight was operating a single-engine aircraft carrying a total of seven people, including two pilots and five passengers, along with 600 kilograms of cargo.
While the aircraft was cruising at an altitude of approximately 1,450 meters, the crew encountered moderate atmospheric turbulence. This weather condition prevented the aircraft from maintaining its assigned altitude, leading to a loss of height. The plane eventually impacted a rocky mountain area situated roughly 15 km southeast of Lake Siljan-Kuel, which was approximately 250 km away from the intended destination.
Findings
The impact resulted in the total destruction of the aircraft. The accident caused two fatalities among the passengers, while the remaining five occupants sustained injuries.
