Air Cairo Orders 15 A320neo Jets to Expand Fleet

Air Cairo has placed a firm order for 15 Airbus A320neo jets, Airbus announced at the El Alamein International Airshow on Tuesday. The new aircraft will support the Egyptian carrier's aim to grow its fleet from 45 to more than 130 aircraft by 2034, according to the manufacturer. Financial terms were not disclosed, and no delivery schedule was provided.

Air Cairo's current fleet includes A320neo, A320ceo, Embraer E190 LR, and ATR 72-600 aircraft. The airline serves destinations in Egypt such as Cairo, Hurghada, and Sharm El Sheikh, along with cities in Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, and East Africa. Air Cairo CEO Hussein Sherif said the agreement gives the airline operational flexibility and financial efficiency as it scales up.
