Vietravel Airlines has signed an agreement to purchase 50 Airbus aircraft as it plans significant international growth. The carrier currently operates four A321s and one A320, according to the airline.

The order includes 20 A220s and 30 A321neo aircraft, with deliveries expected to begin in 2029. Among the A321neo family will be A321XLR variants, which offer greater range. The A220s are intended for new routes with lower demand, while the A321neo aircraft will serve busier and longer international flights.

The A321XLR's range of about 8,700 km will support expansion to South Asia, Central Asia, and parts of the Middle East. Currently Vietravel flies internationally mainly to Bangkok and Shenzhen.

The order is part of the airline's transformation since joining T&T Group in late 2024. Vietravel Airlines received its first A321 in June 2025 and plans to take more aircraft in the second half of this year, growing to 80-90 daily flights.
