Korean Air and Asiana to Launch Starlink Wi-Fi September 15

Korean Air and Asiana Airlines will both begin offering Starlink-based inflight internet service on September 15, 2026. According to the report, Asiana will have ten aircraft equipped on the first day: nine A350-900s and one A330-300. Korean Air will launch with three A350-900s and one 777-300ER.

The service will be complimentary on both carriers. However, the two airlines are implementing different activation procedures. Asiana will use an ad-supported activation method, while Korean Air will require passengers to enter their name and seat number. The carriers will also use different network names and portal URLs, unlike the coordinated approach taken by Lufthansa Group.

The launch comes as Korean Air and Asiana continue their merger integration, including the repainting of Asiana aircraft into Korean Air colors. Despite the coordination on timing, the differing passenger experiences may lead to confusion, the report notes.
