Air Calédonie granted six more months to complete restructuring

A commercial court in Nouméa extended the observation period in Air Calédonie's insolvency proceedings by six months, giving the New Caledonian regional carrier until mid-April 2027 to finish its recovery plan.

Nouméa's commercial court has extended the observation period in Air Calédonie's insolvency proceedings by six months, moving the deadline to mid-April 2027. The ruling came on 8 October, according to Le Nouvelles Calédoniennes.

The New Caledonian regional airline has been in judicial restructuring since 14 April 2026. The extra time is meant to let it finish its recovery plan and stabilise flight operations.

Adanc, the state air transport agency and the airline's main shareholder, backed the extension request. About 220 jobs are at stake.
