Air Canada unveils summer 2027 long-haul network expansion

Air Canada has laid out its summer 2027 long-haul plans, with new routes from Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver plus more capacity on existing Latin American services. Toronto Pearson gets most of the additions. Nonstop flights to Oslo, Shannon and Nice begin in May and June 2027. Oslo runs four times weekly, Shannon three times weekly and Nice twice weekly. Toronto–Shanghai goes daily, and the seasonal Guatemala City route, which starts in December 2026, becomes year-round. London Heathrow also gets added capacity.

From Montreal, Air Canada starts four-time-weekly Basel service on May 11, 2026, and three-time-weekly Dubrovnik flights from June 16, 2027. The seasonal Montreal–Tenerife route, expected to start in October 2026, and the existing Montreal–Lima link will both become year-round. Vancouver picks up a new year-round nonstop to Guangzhou, operating three times weekly from May 2027.

Airbus A321XLR aircraft will serve Oslo, Shannon and Basel. Nice and Dubrovnik will be flown with A330 and B787 equipment respectively, and Vancouver–Guangzhou will also use B787 aircraft. The airline had previously signaled the broad expansion, which includes increased capacity to Latin America.
