Avianca has opened ticket sales for a new direct service between Guayaquil and Cuenca, with flights starting 1 November 2026. The route will operate once a day in each direction.
The northbound leg leaves Guayaquil at 12:40 and arrives in Cuenca at 13:30, according to the airline. The return flight departs Cuenca at 11:05 and lands in Guayaquil at 11:55.
Flown with Airbus A320 family aircraft seating 180 passengers, the nonstop service gives a weekly capacity of close to 2,520 seats on the domestic market.
Avianca described the launch as an expansion of travel options between two cities it called strategic centres for economic, productive and academic activity in Ecuador, serving business, tourism, study and family travel.
Juan Francisco Ortiz, the carrier's country officer in Ecuador, said Guayaquil and Cuenca are a first-tier productive and industrial engine that needs efficient and competitive air transport alternatives. The sale of the direct connection responds to a long-standing mobility need for Cuenca residents and supports the city's commerce, tourism and business.
