Boston Logan Introduces AI Hologram for Passenger Guidance
Massport has begun a pilot at Boston Logan International Airport using a life-size AI avatar named Amelia to help travellers with wayfinding.

Boston Logan International Airport has introduced Amelia, an artificial intelligence avatar that talks with passengers in natural conversation and gives real-time directions. The life-size holographic figure is part of a pilot programme run by the Massachusetts Port Authority, which manages the airport. Two technology firms built the system: Proto Hologram and Holomedia AI. The companies say Boston Logan is now the largest airport to use this kind of AI avatar. The technology has earlier appeared in healthcare, education, finance, retail, sports and entertainment settings.
