Boeing 747

Cathay Cargo flew more than 50 horses from Liège to Hong Kong for the equestrian show Cavalluna. The horses, representing eight breeds, landed in Hong Kong on September 3 aboard a chartered Boeing 747 freighter after a flight of about 12 hours. Professional grooms traveled with them and looked after feeding, water, and welfare. Main-deck temperature was held between 10 and 19 degrees Celsius. Cavalluna is performing outside Europe for the first time. Cathay Cargo says it transports more than 1,000 horses annually.
