Delta A321neos Fly with Temporary 44-Seat First Class Cabin

Delta Air Lines is currently flying seven Airbus A321neos configured with 44 Delta First seats, a layout that was not originally intended for these aircraft. The jets were planned to have Delta One lie-flat seats and Premium Select for transcontinental routes. Certification issues with the Safran VUE seats meant for Delta One prevented that configuration. Delta temporarily installed additional recliners in the affected aircraft, which had been sitting in storage without lie-flats. The airline will operate this configuration until the certification problems are resolved.
