Emirates introduces privacy dividers in premium economy

Emirates has introduced a new premium economy seat with a full-height electrically powered privacy divider between seats. The airline says no other premium economy cabin in the world has this feature.

The seats will go on newly received Airbus A350 widebody aircraft in a 2-3-2 configuration with 28 seats. Passengers raise and lower the dividers using seat controls, and can lock them in place when fully extended.

The design is meant to create a more private environment for relaxing, dining, or working. Seats recline into a cradle position without intruding on the row behind, according to the airline. Other controls include lounge and meal modes.

Additional features include a U-Dream headrest by Safran Seats, a manually deployable leather footrest, wireless charging, USB-C ports, and a tray table.
