Global Airlines faces liquidation petition from alleged creditor
A creditor has filed a petition to wind up UK-based start-up Global Airlines, which plans to launch Airbus A380 flights.
A creditor has filed a liquidation petition against Global Airlines, according to a DJs Aviation report. The petition was filed on May 29, 2026 by Jessica Huffman Reese of Naples, Florida, who claims the company owes her money. She is represented by a lawyer from Vedder Price, a firm that specializes in aviation finance.
Hearings have been set for July 15 and September 2. The outcomes are not yet known.
Global Airlines, a virtual A380 airline, has been trying to get its Airbus A380 with registration 9H-GLOBL back in the air. The aircraft has been parked in Tarbes since last summer. In June, founder and CEO James Asquith announced goals to have the aircraft flying before the end of 2026, to add another aircraft to the fleet, and to offer flights between the UK and the Maldives.
A previous liquidation petition was filed in 2025 but later withdrawn. The amount of the creditor's claim is unclear.
