Iberojet builds unique transatlantic network with new Airbus fleet

Iberojet, the Spanish airline created in 2020 from the merger of Evelop and Orbest, has built a long-haul network linking Europe and Latin America. The carrier operates a hybrid business model, combining scheduled flights with vacation charters. Those two segments account for about 70% of its business. ACMI operations make up the remaining 30%, though lack of fleet capacity limits that segment.

The airline is adding new destinations, including El Salvador, which will be served from both Barcelona and Madrid starting September 2026. Iberojet's fleet is increasingly built around Airbus A350-900 and A330-900neo aircraft.

Alberto López, the airline's Accountable Manager, said the carrier has a well-defined scheduled flight operation while continuing its historical charter activity. He spoke with AeroTime about the airline's business model and future plans.
