Iran Air returning grounded A319 to service after engine repair
Iran Air is preparing to put its Airbus A319, registration EP-IEQ, back into operation after months out of service over an engine problem. The airline has applied to Iran's aviation authority for a renewed airworthiness certificate.

Iran Air is preparing to put an Airbus A319 back into service after months on the ground. The aircraft, registered EP-IEQ, was withdrawn on 29 July after a technical problem with its second engine during a departure from Tehran Imam Khomeini airport on a flight to Najaf.
The engine was removed and repaired at Iran Air's own engine workshop, and while that work was under way the airline carried out an A-check on the aircraft. The engine was then reinstalled and tested.
According to the report, Iran Air has applied to the Iranian aviation authority for an airworthiness certificate. The A319 will re-enter regular service once that document is granted.
