Paris to Réunion service ranks as world's longest domestic flight

A nonstop route between Paris and Saint-Denis de la Réunion covers 5,048 nautical miles, 5,810 statute miles or 9,349 kilometres, according to an account of the route. That makes it the longest domestic flight in the world.

It lands at Roland Garros Airport (RUN). Because the sector never leaves French territory, passengers disembark without passing through border control, presenting a passport or exchanging currency. Southbound trips take about 11 hours 40 minutes, close to twelve hours in the air. The distance exceeds traditional intercontinental sectors such as London to New York by a wide margin.
