Japan Airlines and Korean Air deepen strategic partnership
Japan Airlines and Korean Air are expanding their longstanding cooperation into a strategic partnership, reviewing codeshare and frequent flyer benefits ahead of Asiana Airlines' full integration into Korean Air in December 2026.

Japan Airlines and Korean Air are upgrading a collaboration that spans more than 60 years into a strategic partnership. The two carriers will review and gradually adjust their codeshare and frequent flyer cooperation to match Korean Air's larger route network.
The move comes ahead of Asiana Airlines' planned full integration into Korean Air on December 17, 2026. Japan Airlines will get improved access to its partner's expanded network. The airlines also intend to cooperate in new areas, including projects aimed at improving sustainability in aviation.
