Korean Air and Thai Aviation Industries to maintain Thai military aircraft
Korean Air has signed a Teaming Agreement with Thailand's state-owned Thai Aviation Industries to collaborate on maintenance, repair and overhaul for Thai military aircraft, starting with UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters.
Korean Air and Thai Aviation Industries have agreed to work together on maintaining and upgrading Thai military aircraft. The two companies signed a Teaming Agreement on September 2, 2026, at Korean Air's Tech Center in Busan.
The partners will begin with depot-level maintenance on UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters used by the Royal Thai Army. They plan to extend the work to other aircraft operated by the Royal Thai Armed Forces. Korean Air will also help TAI standardise military aircraft maintenance processes and train Thai personnel.
Korean Air has worked on the UH-60 platform since 1991, when its aerospace division began producing the helicopters. The airline has kept up maintenance support for the fleet and recently won a contract to upgrade the helicopters' performance.
TAI handles maintenance and logistics for all aircraft operated by the Thai military. Korean Air said the partnership should improve Thai military operational readiness by combining its technical expertise with TAI's maintenance network in Thailand.
