Lufthansa and the pilots' union Vereinigung Cockpit have begun mediation proceedings with a preliminary meeting in Seeheim. The session included mediators Bodo Ramelow and Roland Koch, according to the union. Both sides had previously agreed to mediation to resolve several collective bargaining conflicts. During the preliminary discussion, the negotiation teams presented their positions and perspectives. VC President Andreas Pinheiro expressed cautious optimism afterward. He noted that the key is to find long-term sustainable solutions for both employees and the company. The actual mediation talks are expected to follow.
