Lufthansa to add Munich long-haul frequencies to Bangalore and Johannesburg

Lufthansa will temporarily boost its long-haul schedule from Munich in early 2027, adding weekly flights to Bangalore and Johannesburg using Airbus A350-900s.

Airbus A350

Lufthansa plans a temporary increase in its long-haul offering from Munich at the start of 2027, according to the airline's published schedule.

On the Bangalore route, service rises from five to seven flights a week between 1 January and 13 February, before settling at six weekly flights from 19 January. Flights will be operated with the Airbus A350-900.

Johannesburg also gains frequency. Between 5 January and 13 February the route goes from five to six weekly flights, and from 22 January to 5 February Lufthansa will fly to the South African city daily.

The A350-900 is listed for both routes. The extra capacity is described as a temporary measure for the early-2027 period.
