Mongolia studies Comac C919 for Miat Mongolian Airlines fleet
Mongolia is examining whether the Chinese-built Comac C919 could be used by its national carrier, Miat Mongolian Airlines, under conditions still to be assessed.

Mongolia is examining whether its national carrier, Miat Mongolian Airlines, could operate the Chinese passenger aircraft C919. Transport minister B. Delgersaikhan met Comac chief Shen Bo in Shanghai on 25 September to discuss it, according to the news agency Montsame.
The talks covered a possible fleet modernisation and closer cooperation in air transport. The main question, the ministry said, is under which conditions the C919 could be used in Mongolia.
Points to be examined include recognition of the type certificate, flight safety, operation at low temperatures and at high-elevation airports, range, fuel consumption, spare parts supply and maintenance.
Comac also offered cooperation on technical support and the training of specialist personnel. The smaller C909 was discussed as well.
