Madagascar Airlines to revert to Air Madagascar name on October 31

Madagascar Airlines will return to its historic Air Madagascar branding as part of a fresh restructuring effort, with a renewed focus on domestic routes and fleet development.

ATR 42/72

Starting October 31, Madagascar Airlines will fly under its historic name, Air Madagascar. The company's new management confirmed the change on September 11, part of another attempt to recover financially and operationally.

Managing director Rado Rabarilala said the flight schedule will be optimised. Stabilising the domestic network comes first, with international routes to be resumed after.

One connection, to the Comoros, has already been reactivated. Air Madagascar also plans to invest in training young employees and in developing its fleet, which currently consists of five ATR 72 aircraft.
