Norwegian Group flew 2.8 million passengers in September 2026, according to the airline group. The figure includes 394,000 travellers with Widerøe and 2.4 million with Norwegian.

At Norwegian, the load factor improved by 0.6 percentage points to 87.1%, as traffic grew faster than capacity. Capacity was up 6% from a year earlier and traffic rose 7%. The carrier averaged 94 aircraft in service, operated 99.4% of its scheduled flights and reported departure punctuality of 84.3%. It took delivery of two Boeing 737 MAX 8s on 30 September, its 200th and 201st aircraft.

Widerøe raised capacity by 3% while traffic grew 1%, and its load factor declined 1.6 percentage points to 71.8%. Punctuality for the regional carrier was 94.5%, with regularity at 98.2%.

Chief executive Geir Karlsen said demand for Nordic autumn holidays was strong, and that bookings for the winter season looked encouraging. He pointed to leisure travel to warm-weather locations, city trips within Europe and growing inbound tourism to the northern part of Scandinavia. Karlsen said rising fuel prices continued to pose a difficulty, which the group manages by adjusting capacity by season and through fuel hedging.
