Robinson R44 stolen from hangar at Mauterndorf airfield in Austria
A dark blue Robinson R44 helicopter operated by the company of former Olympic ski jumping champion Thomas Morgenstern was stolen from a hangar at Mauterndorf airfield in Austria. It was tracked in Croatian airspace but remains missing.
A Robinson R44 helicopter was stolen from a hangar at Mauterndorf airfield in Austria overnight. The dark blue aircraft, registered OE-XHK, is operated by the company of former Olympic ski jumping champion Thomas Morgenstern.
Police say the perpetrators took off at around 1:50 a.m. The last known contact came at about 4:20 a.m. in Croatian airspace. The R44 was reportedly located near the island of Pag. Police confirmed a tracking in Croatia but gave no precise location.
The helicopter is still missing. The Salzburg state criminal investigation office is handling the case.
