Swiss transplant service honors Alpine Air Ambulance partnership
AAA Alpine Air Ambulance received the Award for Outstanding Partnership 2026 from Swisstransplant, citing its long-standing logistics role in organ transport.
Swisstransplant has given AAA Alpine Air Ambulance its Award for Outstanding Partnership 2026. The company has handled organ transports since 2012 and has been Swisstransplant's exclusive logistics partner since 2015. Organs, blood samples, and medical teams move by ambulance, taxi, helicopter, or airplane, depending on the route and how urgent the transport is.
As of June 30, 2026, 1,201 people in Switzerland were waiting for one or more donor organs. That is down 61, or 4.8 percent, from a year earlier. In 2025, 67 people died on the waiting list because a suitable organ did not arrive in time.
