Incident Notification
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through its General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), notified the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of a ground collision accident that occurred on August 20, 2012. The aircraft involved were a Boeing 747-300 and a Boeing 747-400.
NTSB Involvement
Under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13, the NTSB appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist the GACA investigation. This appointment is standard procedure when an aircraft of U.S. manufacture or design is involved in an accident in a foreign country.
Investigation
