What happened

On July 15, 2019, an IndiGo Air Airbus A320-271N Neo, registration VT-ITU, was operating a flight from Goa Airport, India, to Ahmedabad Airport, India. During the flight, the aircraft's number 1 (left) engine experienced a failure. This event was preceded by a stall warning for engine number 1, along with high vibration and high exhaust gas temperature.

The crew performed an in-flight shutdown of the number 1 engine and executed an air turn back. The aircraft landed without further incident, and there were no injuries reported.
