What happened
On June 1, 2021, a paramotor (PPGG) with a CHARGER 34 wing was being operated in the vicinity of Łąka, near Pszczyna, Poland. During attempts to taxi across a meadow, the aircraft lifted approximately 1.5 meters above the ground. During this maneuver, the wing entered a stall, causing the paramotor's trike to strike an irregularity in the terrain.
The pilot sustained serious injuries during the impact and was subsequently transported to a hospital for medical treatment. Post-accident testing confirmed that the pilot was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the occurrence.
The investigation
The State Commission on Aircraft Accident Investigation (PKBWL) reviewed the available materials regarding the incident. The investigation established that the individual operating the paramotor did not possess the required Paramotor Pilot Certificate (PGP) or the basic qualification (PPGG) necessary to pilot the aircraft.
Due to the fact that the aircraft was being operated by an unauthorized person, the PKBWL decided to refrain from conducting a full investigation into the event.
