What happened
On August 16, 2020, an incident involving a paraglider occurred in Wronowice, located in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship. The event involved an aircraft that was not registered under any specific Polish marks (SP-XXX).
The investigation
The State Commission on Aircraft Accident Investigation (PKBWL) reviewed the documentation provided by Commission members regarding the occurrence. During the review of the facts, it was established that at the time of the incident, the paraglider was being operated by an unauthorized person.
Due to the fact that the pilot lacked the necessary qualifications or authorization to operate the aircraft, the Commission decided to refrain from conducting a full formal investigation into the event. However, the Commission proceeded to notify the President of the Civil Aviation Authority regarding the unauthorized operation.
