Incident Details
On 23 April 2019 at 07:48 a.m., a serious incident involving a loss of separation between two commercial aircraft occurred at Suvarnabhumi Airport, Thailand. The aircraft involved were an Airbus A380-800, nationality and registration mark HS-TUB, operated by Thai Airways International Public Company Limited as flight THA623 from Kansai International Airport to Suvarnabhumi Airport, and a Boeing 777-246(ER), nationality and registration mark JA707J, operated by Japan Airlines Company Limited as flight JAL31 from Tokyo Haneda International Airport to Suvarnabhumi Airport. Neither aircraft sustained damage, and there were no injuries or fatalities.
Investigation Status
Following the incident, the Aircraft Accident Investigation Committee for the Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation Commission Thailand notified the Bureau of Enquiry and Analysis for Civil Aviation Safety of the French Republic, as the state of aircraft design and manufacture, as well as the International Civil Aviation Organization. The investigation is ongoing, and a final report will be published along with the cause of the serious incident. The committee will recommend preventive measures to domestic and international aviation authorities. If any circumstances requiring immediate action are discovered during the investigation, necessary measures will be taken to ensure flight safety.
